PIÑIPAMPA – HUAMBUTÍO SECTION

RAFTING / HALF DAY / CLASS II - LOW

Along flat tranquil waters, with very gentle rapids through a narrow passage in the valley where there are no roads or villages in sight. Suitable for kids aged three and up. This section can be done at any time of the year but class III rapids may be expected during the rainy season from December to April.

OLLANTAYTAMBO - CACHICATA SECTION

RAFTING / HALF DAY / CLASS III - MODERATE

This descent begins in tranquil waters, and continues onto the Ollantaytambo rapids, surrounded by Andean terraces, Inca trails and natural rock walls rising above 800 m. Birdwatching and Inca ruins; this section can be done from May to December.

CHUQUICAHUANA SECTION

RAFTING / HALF DAY / CLASS IV - MODERATE TO HIGH

A stretch of continuous Class III to Class IV rapids through a narrow valley; birdwatching and passage through the Chuquicahuana canyon. A good run at any time of the year, with Class IV and V rapids from November to April.

LA SAL: MORAY - MARAS - SACRED VALLEY

MOUNTAIN BIKING. DIFFICULTY LEVEL: MODERATE

Mostly downhill, with moderate slopes: Starts from the circular Andean terraces of Moray, the Inca agricultural experiment, along unpaved roads leading to the traditional village of Maras. This spot provides one of the best views of the Cordillera Urubamba. We continue down to the salt pans along bridle paths until finally reaching the Sacred Valley of the Incas.

CHINCHERO AND LA SAL: MORAY - MARAS - SACRED VALLEY

MOUNTAIN BIKING. DIFFICULTY LEVEL: MODERATE

Starting point is Chinchero along a wide trail, mostly flat but with a few gentle slopes, overlooking beautifully tended multicolored fields, passing by Huaypo lake, the circular Andean terraces at Moray -the Inca agricultural experiment- down llama tracks to the traditional village of Maras, which provides one of the best views of the Cordillera Urubamba. We continue down to the salt pans mines along an unpaved road to the Sacred Valley of the Incas.

THE MOUNTAIN PASS AT LARES - CALCA

RIVER RAFTING + RUINS

PEROLNIYOC TREK

HALF DAY HIKE

This is a mostly downhill walk between mountains where we will pass through the Raqaypata archaeological center and the Perolniyoc Waterfall. We will leave Urubamba for about 1 hour to the starting point of the trek. We will walk at the beginning in a gentle ascent, to then enter the ravine and take the old road to Raqaypata. After visiting the archaeological center, we will continue down with a view of the 80 m waterfall until we reach the base where we can cool off with the cold water. We will continue a little more until we reach our vehicle

HUAYOCCARI - URQUILLO

HORSEBACK RIDING. DIFFICULTY LEVEL: MODERATE - LOW

We start from Huayoccari, an important hacienda in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. We ride across farmlands in fine, strong Paso horses. Once in the Quebrada de Urquillo, the gully is filled with the sound of parrots and the locals tending to their farms and watching their grazing livestock. We cross a couple of bridges before reaching the hacienda again.

In the meantime our staff will be preparing an awesome picnic and, if there ́s anyone that doesn ́t feel like going to the water, they can stay and have some drinks and appetizers under the shadow of the shelter in comfortable chairs admiring the view. After the paddling is over we ́ll get together to share each experience with a cold beer or a glass of wine and taste the healthy food prepared in Munaycha ́s house.

APURIMAC BLACK CANYON

The Apurimac canyon is considered one of the deepest in Peru and one of the best places for rafting trips in the world. The Black Canyon section is characterized by its large number of white sand beaches, its long sections of calm and crystal-clear waters, and it’s fun class III and IV rapids. We will have the chance to see condors, deer, river otters, foxes and different types of birds.

 

This trip is ideal for people with little experience in the river who are willing to live an adventure in contact with nature, without too much difficulty but with the necessary dose of action and adrenaline. Children from 12 years of age can go.

APURIMAC WHITE CANYON

Apurímac is a Quechua word that means “The talking God”. The Apurímac river is the most important and farthest affluent of the Amazon river. This canyon, considered among the country’s deepest, is 2,000 m / 6,561 ft deep, and this rafting trip ranks among the 10 best in the world. Apurímac is an important granite canyon with shining vertical walls, incredible geological formations caused by water erosion and beautiful sandy beaches, were we will enjoy our lunch and camp. This is a short trek in the surroundings or Cusco. Departing from Piaruy Lake, Chinchero and arriving at Huchuy Qosqo or "Little Cosco", Which is an important but little visited archaeological center. Huchuy Qosqo is located in a privilieged spot overlooking the Sacred Valley. Wr will be using Inca trails, crossing mountain passes or "abras" enjoying a wide diversity of endemic flira and fauna as well as Inca ruins. It is a great trek for people with little time who want to experience adventure at its most.

This is one of the most spectacular high-altitude hikes in Peru. It surrounds one of the most important Apus or "sacred mountains" of Cusco, the Ausangate. The route takes us through several mountain passes or "abras" with impressive views, authentic Andean communities, hot springs and turquoise lagoons.  An unforgettable hike for lovers of trekking, nature and in search of something different.
